Dancing for Dignity in Lancashire

Our Dancing for Dignity tea dance was held at the newly refurbished Vicarage Park Community Centre in Poulton Le Fylde on Friday 26 October. The afternoon turned out to be a fabulous success, and a wonderful afternoon of dancing to live music was enjoyed by many of Poulton’s senior citizens.

Local entertainer Ricky Howard provided live music with a selection of songs from the 50s, 60s and 70s, including favourites from Sinatra, Elvis and Neil Diamond. During the interlude our guested enjoyed a fashion for fun show hosted by local boutique Solo, with care and support staff from All About You Care Services stepping out on the cat walk, local businesses generously donated some fantastic raffle prizes these included meals out for two, a selection of gift vouches, three huge hampers and much more.

Tea, cake and biscuits were served during the afternoon with each guest receiving a Dignity cupcake especially baked to celebrate the purpose of the days event. The event raised £221 and this this has been donated to the National Dignity Council. The National Dignity Council work to change the culture across social Care and healthcare services placing emphasis on improving the quality of care and the experience of the people who receive services.

Event organiser and Director of All About you Care services said:

“The afternoon was a great success, it was heart warming to see so many of our elderly citizens having a good time and getting out into the community. The feedback has been positive with numerous requests for us to host another event soon”
