Centre 404 Dignity Action Day 2019 - Art Fair
For Dignity Action Day 2019 we held an Art Fair alongside some arts and crafts sessions.
The Art Fair was designed to allow some of the very talented artists that we support through our Supported Living and Outreach projects to exhibit their work. On the day the artists were able to talk to visitors about their work, how they made it and what inspired them. It was great to see the artists being given the opportunity to do this and to show off their amazing talent. We hope to run similar exhibitions in the future.
Craft sessions included a knitting workshop, where some of the very experienced knitters we support were able to teach people attending the art fair the basics of knitting. Some knitting enthusiasts were definitely created on the day! Further workshops, to be led by service users, are already being planned.
We also ran adult colouring activities, where people enjoyed a relaxing time colouring in some wonderful posters donated to us by The School of Life. Finally we had a table where we could all channel our inner Great British Bake Off contestant and take part in some cupcake decorating. Unsurprisingly, this was a very popular activity and there wasn't a crumb of cake left by the end of the afternoon!
Thanks to our brilliant and talented service users and staff for putting on such a great day, it was a lot of fun and lovely to see everyone's artistic talents on display.
