Waves in Weston
Weston Area NHS Trust had a bright and inviting stand in the front foyer of the hospital. Teaming up with the local Crossroads organisation, and dignity Champions, they received pledges from 100 people to become Dignity Champions, some of which were helped to sign up there and then on the day.Newly-signed up Dignity Champions included Consultants, porters, Executive Directors,Housekeeping staff, Post room staff, Multidisciplianary staff, Xray and nursing staff as well as visitors and patients. Using Sir Michael Parkinson's speesch about 'small ripples' we used 'Making Waves in Weston as a theme and encouraged people to be prepared to challenge situations where dignity could be compromised. Sir Micheal's report, in which spoke highly about his visit to Weston Hospital was readily available as well as lots of other resourses.
