A virtual Dignity Cruise around the world

Lesley Flatley, manager at Davlyn House shares her plan for Dignity in Action Month this February.

We have planned a virtual Dignity Cruise around the world.

We will leave Southampton on 1st February on the Cruise Ship Davlyn and cruise for the month of February

Our itinerary will include stops in Ireland, France, Spain, Greece, Italy, Egypt, Indian, Asia and Australia

At each venue, we will meet the people, taste the food and learn more about their culture and lifestyles.

Relatives and friends are welcome to join us as we journey around the world and are welcome to join us for meals and activities. This can be in person at the home or virtually through our facebook page, we will keep our Dignity friends updated with our progress.

We will be asking staff to pledge three deeds to complete throughout the month, post them on our well-being board then share with us the impact they had  at the end of the month

Church Service that will be held at Davlyn on the 13th of February will be centred on how important Love, Kindness, Compassion, Respect  and Dignity are everyday requirements.

We are planning a Community Dignity Day for the 20th February which we will place at our local Church Hall, where we will welcome friends from other local homes to join us. The afternoon will be around raising awareness, having a Dignity Tea, songs and a quiz to complete the afternoon.

Coffee Morning planned for the last week of February, where we will welcome children of staff and relatives to make cakes and join in activities with our residents have coffee and share stories with each other. As always Dignity will be our theme.
