Art from the Heart

These are pictures of the latest collage by attendees of Queens cross network in Dudley.

Queens cross is a community-based Disability support hub in Dudley, West Midlands, which is offered by the local authority, in association with local charities including Disability in Action, who are based there.

Disability in action is a charity which is entirely managed and run by people who themselves are living with a disability. Who better to run and manage services for people with a disability, than those individuals who are living with a disability? The charity funds a weekly art session for people who attend the centre.

The current art ‘theme’ is ‘Dignity’, to recognise ‘Disability Pride’ month. And so….. members of the group decided to create something wonderful. A piece of art, which depicts in pictures and words, and in “art from the heart” what dignity is, to them. A celebration of Dignity through the wonderful talents and skills of people who are living with a disability in our community.

Please take a moment to view the work, and to reflect on it. We hope it takes you to somewhere meaningful, and positive in your own mind, regarding what Dignity means to you and those you love!

At Queens cross we invite you all to “bend and adapt with the grace of a tree’s branches, embracing flexibility and resilience, in the face of life’s challenges”
