Care Homes and practice

Lorraine Morgan 20/04/09 Dignity Champions forum

Hi,
Do have a look at the work done at My Home Life re care in care homes.
This is a public resource developed through the project and Director is
a nurse - Professor Julienne Meyer (Professor of Gerontology Nursing at
City University).
In Wales I am the Chair of My Home Life Cymru which is funded by the
Welsh Assembly government through their healthy ageing departmental
section and managed by Help the Aged Cymru (now merged with Age Concern
Cymru).
The Wales initiative is actually piloting networks and development in
care homes involving residents as well as nurses and care support
workers.
Our website will be launched soon so I will make sure that I email this
network the website and first newsletter.

Regards all and keep up the good work.

Lorraine

I am about to launch a domiciliary care service (June), but currently manage a community support team and also oversee quality in the care homes that we own. Loads to do!! I think that would be useful, I down loaded the information that Karen
mentioned and am having a read through to see if I can think of any
ideas for the carers at work. I am manager of a Domiciliary care agency
and really want dignity in care to be promoted.
I would love to hear any ideas or share opinions on any new ideas

Regards
Emma
