Christmas Poem
Dignity champion Adam Probert has written a Christmas poem which we will be handing out at our Christmas party at the Manor House Nursing Home. I would like to share it with you.
All I want for Christmas: Dignity Poem
Let your presents to me this year not be wrapped and under the tree, material goods concern me not give me the gift of dignity.
I know modern life is busy and to make time can be hard
but please try to include me whether or not there's money in your card.
Please keep me involved and never for too long parted from
the burgeoning next generation of the family I started.
Now you have your own children Christmas is filled with fun and smiles tell them of the ones we shared when you were a child.
Help me to my place of worship where I find comfort and release
try to understand and help me practice my beliefs.
I hope you're sitting cosily now the decorations are hung
remember Christmas is about the family the old not just the young.
Forget me not this Christmas time let me share in the festive cheer
but when the seasons been and gone remember I'm still here.
.
I'm sorry if the things I've said have left you feeling listless
but please remember dignity is for life and not just for Christmas
