DIGNITY AND RESPECT
There is one more word is missing at end of dignity, watch is Respect.
Dignity and Respect
If care service gave the staff praise with respect when it is due from the service then they will get work out of the staff then residents have dignity then the residents will have a better input in the care service
Treat everybody as the same
Residents come first
Staff come second
Company come last
Some of the residents have not got their parents and families, then the staff, support workers they comes our friends more.
I am not perfect nobody is, that what made us people.
We are here for each other this what make a care job is a challenge, not just a job.
Have a good sense of humour
THANK YOU

I entirely agree, that it goes resident/patient first, then staff next - but with luck, you can be decent in the treatment of patients or residents, staff and relatives all at the same time.
Part of the problem with 'respect' issues, is that different people view different things as being disrespectful - everyone properly and openly talking to each other, often clears up some of the issues there !
Keep up the good work !

I am agree with you all the way there, a small issue then it comes into a
big issues about a barmy thing when the services users has been doing it in
the pass without trouble.
I like you to read this
What do you this?
BOB
When I had my review on Wednesday 26th January 2011 they told me that
Paisley Close was shout down. Few weeks later, I am picking the telephone up
to Paisley Close to arrange a visit go to see them. I went there on
Thursday 17th of February 2011. I had a cup of tea there.
Disabled people are careers to looking after them.
Hi Bob
Have found the number for Paisley and spoken with a member of staff there
who remembers you. Do you fancy visiting there on Thursday 17th February
about 4 o'clock. Pete is due to be working that day and so should be there.
Let me know what you think.
Regards
John
They are interesting in making rules up about using a very small black loop
on black sling to get me upright position in my chair, now the staff are
pulling their backs in without using the small black loop. After when we
have been doing it in the pass without trouble or difficulty.
This is disturbance
When it is their idea then they are act fast enough to do it. When it come
to users services ideas then the services comes to rules and legislations I
need somebody to explain it all to me and what we are achieving.
Thanks

Bob, I think you asked me for my opinion on the above post.
I am not quite sure what is going on there - but it could be some protocol (health and safety, or some other source) which has just been imposed on the staff, and which makes no sense to the service users.
Often, these impositions from above, make no sense to te front-line staff either - but they don't have the courage, time or enthusiasm to argue about it, with their own bosses. And sometimes staff think 'if it came from above, it must be right -even if I cannot understand why - because they are experts'.
Also, if staff see something as a rule, they often fear the personal consequences of breaking a rule.
I think, all of those things, come into play. I don't know if that is helpful, Mike
ABOUT MY SLING.
IT WAS END OF JULY WHEN SUE MOVING AND HANDLING PERSON CAME AND I HAD HER ON TOP OF MY BED. I WENTED UP IN THE AIR FOR LOTS OF TIME FOR HER.
I AM WONDERING IF SHE HAD A DISABLED SON OR DISABLE SITTER DO YOU THINK SHE WOULD BE WAITING LONG TIME FOR A NEW SLING TO GET HER OWN DISABLE SON OR DISABLE SITTER UP? DO YOU THINK SHE WILL USE BLACK SLING AND YELLOW LOOP TO GET THEM OVER THE ARM OF THE CHAIR?
YOU DO THINK THE DISABLED PEOPLE ARE HUMANS? I AM NOT SURE.

Bob i am hoping this situation has improved by now, I am pleased to see people with a disability on here I think its about time people in your situation had a voice and support to stand up for your rights. Sometimes health and safety has alot to answer for and its a shame we are in such a compensation culture that people are not allowed to use common sense and sometimes a little consideration without fear of repercussions.Do you have an advocate? Sometimes it takes someone else to get the point across when ears seem to be closing .
Take care, from one human to another!
