Providing 'emergency' toiletries

Old forum user 01/07/09 Dignity Champions forum

Hello,
My name is Caroline Nicholson and I am working on an acute older adults unit. I wonder if anyone has had any experience of providing a basic toiletries pack to patients when they are admitted as an emergency. I am trying to find suppliers/alternative ideas and costing around this issue and would appreciate any input.
Thank-you

Lisa, Thank-you I have also been informed that the league of friends in the hospital may help. May I come back to you when I know what it is we are trying to provide and if internal sources are not able to help,
I really appreciate your interest and quick response,
best wishes,
Caroline

Hi caroline

I work in a small community run PCT hospital, we have patient packs that we get funded by league of friends. They are very basic and just have small sample size toothpaste soap etc. Also the ward includes in its buget basic toiletries for those people who do not have relatives etc It equates out to a very small cost and obviously helps froma dignity issue
