Talking to my town clerk!
I just off the phone with the carterton town clerk and he is wanting to see me about the dignity campaign and is going to help me spread the word to encourage more people to join the cause! :) I'm excited!
Well done Sarah-Jayne !
Don't be too optimistic - but I do hope your town clerk helps you to get the message out there,
Best wishes, Mike
This is great Sarah-Jayne - how did you get on, and is there anything you have learnt that we can share with others via the newsletter.
Hello Liz!
I went and spoke to the town clerk and he brought along the head of the Carterton lions which is a community club. The town clerk likes what we are doing and was willing to put up our posters and leaflets. The lady from the Carterton lions took notes and went back to the lions community to make them aware of our campaign and what we do.
They advised me to talk and got me in contact with the head of practice managers and discuss with them about becoming an advocate in the local GP surgeries!
I have given fliers and leaflets to my neighbours and friends and i've put them on some notice boards. I was also advised to go into my local churches and I am friends with one of the local vicars so i'll give him a visit too! I've been busy trying to get more awareness.
I hope this is helpful and i've given you something that can be used as part of the newsletter! Let me know!
Kind regards,
Sarah-Jayne Drinkwater
Sounds really good, Sarah-Jayne - well done !
Thank you!
Hi Sarah-Jayne
What a fantastic outcome, well done, I'll certainly put something in the next newsletter. This is what being a champion for Dignity is about.
Thanks for sharing
Hi Sarah
You will have noticed that we didn't put anything in the last newsletter, this was because there was quite a full agenda, and your information wasn't as time sensitive as some of the other things. I have already put it in the April newsletter, so please keep up the good work.
Hi Sarah-Jayne,
Can I ask - how is going ?
Best wishes, Mike
Growl - I can't even type a short sentence: nor can I see my mistakes before I click on 'submit' [which if anything is the more annoying].
'How is it going ?'
It is going very well. I've spoken to a number of organisations around my town and I've been in and spoke to the library and churches. I've spread the word around my local streets too! A lot of people think it's a good campaign!
Good news Sarah-Jayne, I'm pleased it seems to be going well and that that you are getting 'positive feedback'.
It can become quite 'wearing and frustrating' if you seem to be banging your head against a brick wall all of the time, so I'm really pleased that a lot of people are telling you your efforts are going down well.
I hope you continue to have success,
Best wishes, Mike
Well done Sarah-Jayne keep us updated on progress. All the best Dave
