dignity champions
hi everyone ive been elected a dignity champion today
Congratulations. There is a move for people like us to wear badges. I think it is not necessary because dignity champions are achieved not through badges but our care and actions to help and protect our residents/patients/clients.

Hi Taleb - Very valid point, but I think the badge idea is not about achieving the aims it is about promoting the initiative and keeping it as a high profile in people's minds otherwise it will just go the same way as so many other things and simply peter out after an initial burst of enthusiasm (rather like me first thing in the morning).
Cheers

HI,
Well done for the comment re what we do rather than what we label ourselves. I was hoping that someone would come up with this remark.
Rather a lot of emails about badges and not enough about what you are actually going to do.

Hi Laurence
Thanks for the comment. I do not think we need badges but more concrete actions within our teams, more awareness within the care setting. More education, education and education. More front line actions in practice rather than flashing badges. It just will not achieve anything other than be a hazard for our clients/staff.
Bye
