Jayne Biddiscombe spreading the word

"As the 3,000th dignity champion, I feel charged to spread the word"

Read here how 30 minutes out of Jaynes day helps to spread the word.

I am a cardiac nurse, but have joined the training department of Weston Super Mare hospital, Somerset. Hence I have gained confidence in presenting teaching sessions. We incorporate the thread of dignity in all training sessions we do here and raise awareness of the issue to all new staff in the hospital, be it, nursing staff, porters, finance staff, as we are all here because of the patients.

I have a daughter who is also going into nursing and currently working in a nursing home. She has become a dignity champion herself and has negotiated with her manager that I go in and offer a small teaching session about dignity with the aid of the DVD made by Amanda Waring, called "What Do You See, Nurses."

This should only take about half an hour after my working day at the hospital and I am happy to use the teaching skills I have acquired to spread the word of dignity in this way.
