Polars Dignity Tree
Polars Residential Home
Dignity action day at Polars would not be complete without the Dignity Tree. A symbol of what Dignity in care means to our Residents, their families, visitors and all staff. During the morning the log book was updated and everyone had the opportunity to write their ideas and values of what dignity means to them on a leaf.
The afternoon was fun filled with the decoration of the ginger bread biscuits, sugar iced leaves were used to maintain their dignity, while our in house DJ played some of the classics from the 1940s & 50s for the afternoon dance.
A slice of dignity was severed up at tea time by the catering team who made a celebratory cake for everyone to enjoy.
The care team took part in a questionnaires relating to the first topic in the dignity challenge while “Look closer” was played on loop.
