Bishops Court

Staff, Residents and Visitors at Bishops court were asked to participate in building our dignity tree which is positioned in the foyer of our home. Contributions included completing a comment on a leaf which was then hung on a branch of our tree. The tree was positioned in the foyer of the home to encourage visitors and out side agencies to become involved. Once our tree was compiled staff would choose a comment leaf and discus the content at our monthly staff meeting. This was introduced to enlighten all those involved in caring for residents in our home that dignity can mean different things to different people. Our tree now holds many messages which we continue to hold discussions about and welcome the input of visitors entering our home. This was also a way of encouraging staff to sign up as dignity champions and promote dignity within our home. We also printed the 10 point challenge and displayed them around our home.
