veterans badges

Elizabeth Court were delighted to have the company of the Mayor and Mayoress of St. Helens once again.

One of our carers, Katya Walker, used to serve in the armed forces, and thought it would be a lovely idea to organise a veterans badge presentation for some of our residents who also served. She sent away for the badges and certificates, and the Mayor agreed to present them to the people involved. We had a small church service and afternoon tea was provided. All the staff were touched by the day and residents and their families were very proud.It is important to remember those who fought in World Wars, to give us the lives we have today. Some of our residents helped in the making of a poppy wall decoration which reminds us every day "Lest we forget"
