Digni-Tea Foxgrove
Dignity Action Day was celebrated for the first time at Foxgrove and it was a huge success!!!
We found dignity champions resources very useful, we have used the posters and newsletters provided explaining the aim of the campaign.
Invitations were sent to residents families; posters were hung at Tesco and surgeries, and all carers and their families were invited.
We had started a week before decorating the house.
Debbie ( cook), made dozens of clay red and white hearts, and residents had a lot of fun decorating them with Wendy ( activities coordinator) with a bit of help from the carers .
We hung them in all different places in the house, which gave a nice touch to the home!!!
Then we thought …” what if we all got involved writing dignity messages?! “
And that’s what we did!
We hung the messages in a dignity tree and we spread messages in heart shapes all over the house… what a great atmosphere!!!
We spent the day before the party decorating the rooms with red and white balloons, hanging banners, and making flower arrangements for the big day!
There was only one thing missing … a symbol that we could all wear…
We have made heart shape badges for each person, which were very well appreciated and worn with pride!
We have also organized a raffle, with lots of chocolates and cute teddy bears.
Kerry ( carer )sold all the raffle tickets , what a success…!!!
Natalie (administrative) baked a gorgeous and delicious cake decorated with the dignity theme.
Mark and Debbie (cooks) made beautiful scones in heart shapes and all different types of cupcakes, savoury miniatures and tasty sandwiches!!!
Nina (carer) and I took a lot of photos so we could all share this magical day!!!
We had a wonderful time, generations got together and the feeling of joy and love was spread into our hearts!!!
