Woodward Court
As part of our dignity day to raise awarness at Woodward Court we decided to hold a Victorian day. Everyone dressed in black and white and some staff wore victorian dress from the victorian period. Dresses, top hat and tail and some maids outfits including mop cap and matching apron. We decorated the dinning room in the victorian era with pictures of victorian dress and transport, victorian food, poems and songs. We also had a dignity wall with pictures and illustrations showing dignity in care. We invited service users, families and friends. It was a billiant turn out and everyone enjoyed it, some played old school time games, dominoes, hangman, bubbles, cross stitch. While learning poems, songs and nursery rhymes of that era.
Everyone enjoyed the lovely baking served with Tea or coffe which Woodward Courts cook worked hard to ensure was lovely. Their was a choice of fresh scones sweet and savory, victorian sponge and victorian triffles and many more. We took plenty of pictures and did a movie of the day so we can look back at it. it was lovely to see all the smiling faces and also to bring back so many memories while talking about dignity.
