Full day with Heidi

HIGH Haven Care Home, at Downham, was buzzing with non-stop action and a constant stream of visitors on Dignity Action Day.

The activities, organised to mark National Dignity in Care Day, started with a coffee morning and was followed by a performance by the local Hillcrest School choir.

There were art and gardening therapy sessions and pet therapy by coach, Rachel Purcell - of her company Life Enhancement - who brought Heidi, her golden retriever, on one of her regular visits to meet the residents.

A bingo session was the highlight of the afternoon with pupils from Downham High School helping out.

"It was a brilliant day," said Suzy Stimpson, who is the home's activities organiser and a carer.

"Everyone thoroughly enjoyed it and it was very rewarding. It went so well that we have already decided to do the same again next year."
