Big green ‘D’
Dignity Day at Mid Cheshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust
Dignity Day proved to be a huge success here at MCHFT, particularly the muffins iced with a big green ‘D’, courtesy of the Catering Department!
We decided to utilise the word ‘DIGNITY’ itself, choosing a specific theme for each letter:-
DDelivering Same-Sex Accommodation
IIndependence, Well Being and Choice
GGuidelines for People with Learning Disabilities
NNew Approach to Dementia Care
IInformation for Patients
TThe Mid Cheshire Mission
YYOU can make a difference
We were joined by members of the Learning Disability team from the Cheshire and Wirral Partnership Trust. Their stand was particularly busy as staff found out more about services available for patients with learning disabilities in our area.
Our new electronic guidelines for improving care for dementia patients were on show and our final stand encouraged staff to sign up to become Dignity Champions. Over 130 members of staff did!
The event was attended by our Chief Executive and Director of Nursing and Quality as well as a visit from Anna Gaughan, Regional Dignity Lead who spent a great deal of time talking to staff and learning about the excellent work they are involved in here at the Trust.
