Blooming Great Day
Dignity in Action Day at Brooklands Nursing Home on 25 Feb 2010
A good time was had by all when Brooklands Nursing Home on Leeds Road, held a ‘Dignity in Action Day’ on Thurs between 2 to 5 pm.
The residents were asked what they would like to do and they chose to be entertained by a local singer John Sussex, followed by flower arranging using fresh flowers, they had a relaxing time by having their hands massaged and nails trimmed by local Beauty Therapist Caroline Mawer. Some of the residents iced the buns which were thoroughly enjoyed by all with a cuppa. Staff brought in their pets to enable the residents to ‘Pat a Pet’.
Relatives and visitors were invited to the home who joined in the occasion and the residents enjoyed talking to them about their memories and the past.
The afternoon was finished off with the residents enjoying a Fish & Chip supper eaten out of the paper with their fingers, washed down with either a glass of shandy or Dandelion and Burdock.
