Walsingham D.A.D.
Children from St. Begh's Junior school joined service users from Walsingham support services in a coffee morning for Dignity Action Day.
The group shared cake and other refreshments while they met and chatted. As part of the event the children looked at the existing dignity posters and were tasked with designing a new one based on the groups experiences.
Some of the children gave their feedback on the event.
"I thought it was really kind of them to let us come, because they took their time and effort to make this a memorable time for us. I learnt from my experience, that everyone’s the same, everyone's has got a heart and eyes, they know what you are saying."
"I saw people with learning disabilities and carers that took time to listen to them. I think we have to treat everybody with respect and treat everybody equal."
"When I walked in it felt like it was happy place to be. The activity was well organised, and I really enjoyed my time there. I learnt that people with disabilities are just the same as me, and they just want to be treat just like a normal person."
It was a successful event that everyone got a lot out of. Thanks to the organisers including Gemma.
