Digni-tea-Digni-tree

For Dignity action day I arranged a coffee morning and to make a "Digni-tree". The tree comprised of leaves made by each of my service users telling me what dignity meant to them. The leaves were all different colours and decorated individually to represent each persons personality. I made a wall of posters showing just what dignity is and how we can work together to improve and all that attended had the chance to speak out and say what their leaves represented to them. The tree proved too be popular with the more advanced dementia service users due to the colours and the different materials such as glitter and textiles grabbing attention. The whole morning proved to be popular with lots of comments from service users and family members, here are just a few:

"such a lovely idea"

"beautiful"

"a wonderful personal touch"

"I always feel dignified, everyday"
