Dignity Action Day
ALLIANCE Elective Care Services decided to acknowledge and celebrate National Dignity Day Feb 2015 by holding a weeks worth of small digni-Tea events around the County of Leicestershire within several local Community Hospitals
Alison Hessey, Interim Head Nurse/Clinical Governance Lead hosted the events supported by local Dignity Champions
The events focused on promoting the importance of dignity and provided the opportunity for patients and public to contribute by giving their thoughts on what dignity meant to them. These were written down and attached to a giant tree
A couple of displays were on show demonstrating examples of improvements made around dignity for patients including posters illustrating numerous actions taken by Dignity Champions to improve patient experience
Complimentary tea, coffee, juice and delicious cakes were available and enjoyed by all who participated making for a fun filled, enjoyable and successful week providing a fantastic opportunity to promote a topic that all felt passionately about
